Announcement Regarding the Passing of Kenneth J. Watter, C.P.A.

     It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Kenneth J. Watter, the founder and owner of Kenneth J. Watter, C.P.A., PC. Ken left us on December 4, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that extends beyond his professional achievements.  
Ken was not only a highly successful Certified Public Accountant but a dedicated individual who made significant contributions to our community throughout Montgomery County. His commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to his clients
has left an indelible mark on our firm.  

     As you know, Ken had a distinguished career as a CPA, providing invaluable financial guidance to countless individuals and businesses, from his graduation from the University of Maryland in 1980, and for the last 40+ years as a CPA, his expertise and commitment to ethical standards set a benchmark in our industry. Many of you have benefitted from his insightful advice and meticulous attention to detail over the years.  

     Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ken was actively involved in community service. His philanthropic efforts and support for local initiatives have had a positive and lasting impact on the lives of many. We will continue to honor his legacy by maintaining our commitment to community involvement and service.  In addition to his professional pursuits, Ken had a unique and remarkable background in stand-up comedy. His wit and humor not only brought joy to those around him but also added a distinct element to his interactions with clients and colleagues. Ken's ability to balance professionalism with a sense of humor made him a beloved figure in both his professional and personal spheres.

       In light of Ken's passing, we want to assure you that our team is committed to maintaining the high standards of service that Ken established. I have been working with Ken since 2012 and became a partner in 2020. Ken was more than just my business partner. He wasa
wonderful friend and mentor. I am grateful to have had the experience of not only working with him but being professionally mentored by him as well. As a result, I have an intimate knowledge of the business and clients and will continue to provide the same level of services. Additionally, we are blessed with a wonderful staff that is working diligently to ensure the seamless handling of your files. Finally, for those who wish to pay their respects and celebrate Ken's life, a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 16420 S. Westland Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877. His burial will immediately follow at Parklawn Cemetery located at 12899 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, Maryland 20853. Family, friends, and clients are welcome to gather at La Mexicana located at 16143 Shady Grove Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877.
